🆘 SRD R370 Grant — June 2026
The SRD grant works differently from permanent grants. Everyone gets their own individual payment date — there is no single day for all recipients.
To qualify for the SRD in 2026 you must be a South African citizen, permanent resident, asylum seeker, or special permit holder, aged 18–59, unemployed with no other income or social grant. Apply or manage your status at srd.sassa.gov.za. For step-by-step help see our SRD Grant Application guide.
🪙 SASSA Gold Card Phase-Out — Act Before August
⚠️ Gold Cards Stop Working on 31 August 2026
If you are still using the old SASSA Gold Card, you must switch to the new Postbank Black Card before 31 August 2026. Replacement cards are available at Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers, and Post Offices nationwide. Do not wait — your July or August payment could be disrupted if you miss the deadline.
Your June 2026 payment is safe if you already have the new Black Card. If you still have the Gold Card, make switching your priority this month. You do not need to visit a SASSA office — major retailers handle card replacements.
🏧 Where to Collect Your SASSA Payment
⏱️ What to Do If Your June Payment Is Late
Most "missing" payments are just bank processing delays. Work through these steps first.
- Wait 3 full working days. If your date is 2 June, funds may only reflect on 5 June due to bank processing. This is normal — not a problem.
- Check your status. Dial *134*7737# free, call 0800 60 10 11, or visit sassa.gov.za.
- Check for a review SMS. If SASSA sent you a notification and you did not respond, your grant may be on hold. Visit a SASSA office with your ID straight away.
- Confirm your banking details. Changed accounts? Update at your nearest SASSA office before the end of June.
- Complete biometric verification. Not done yet? Visit any SASSA office with your ID. See our biometric verification guide.
- Visit your nearest SASSA office. Take your ID and SASSA card. Most issues are resolved on the same day. If your grant was cancelled see our SASSA appeal guide.
