SASSA changed the November schedule on 15 October 2026 because the Local Government Elections fall on 4 November. The old age grant now lands in your account before the month starts. If you searched for the SASSA payment for this month, use the dates below. Some older websites still show 3, 4 and 5 November, and those dates are out of date.

The War Veterans Grant and Grant-in-Aid are normally paid together with the Older Persons Grant cycle. Check your SMS or bank balance on 30 October before you assume yours is late. For the full year, see the SASSA payment dates 2026/2027 schedule further down this page.

Why SASSA changed the November 2026 payment dates

SASSA announced the revised dates on 15 October 2026. The agency said it consulted stakeholders first, and National Treasury approved the new schedule. SASSA also asked beneficiaries not to visit its offices unless they have to, since payments follow the announced dates.

If a website still lists 3, 4 and 5 November, it hasn't been updated. Always check the date on sassa.gov.za or call 0800 60 10 11 if you're unsure. Beneficiaries with a grant under review should reply to any SASSA message and keep their review appointment.

SASSA old age grant payment date (pension day)

The old age grant is R2,400 a month if you are 60 to 74, and R2,420 if you are 75 or older. Your money should reflect in your bank account or Postbank account from 30 October. The next old age grant payment date after that is Wednesday, 2 December 2026.

Pensioners in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, the Eastern Cape, Limpopo and the other provinces all get the same date and the same rand amount. SASSA doesn't change grant amounts by province.

SASSA disability grant payment date

The Disability Grant is R2,400 a month. The Care Dependency Grant is also R2,400, but it is paid with the children's grants on 3 November. Keep your medical review papers up to date, because a missed review can lead to a suspended payment.

You don't have to collect your money on 2 November. It stays in your account, so you can wait a day or two to avoid queues at ATMs and pay points.

SASSA foster care grant payment date and other children's grants

The Foster Child Grant is R1,300 a month after the October increase. The Child Support Grant is R580 per child, and the Care Dependency Grant is R2,400. If you care for more than one child, you get one combined payment on 3 November.

Caregivers who qualify for the child support top-up get an extra R280 on the same date. A child added to your grant recently may only appear in the following month's payment. If you searched for the child grant payment date, 3 November is the one to use.

The fourth payment day: grant reviews on 5 November

If your grant falls under review, SASSA will contact you. Reply to the message and attend your review appointment if you're asked to. Ignoring a review can lead to a suspended grant.

SRD R370 grant payment dates for November 2026

Your exact SRD date depends on your batch and your bank. Two people approved for the same month can be paid on different days. The grant stays at R370 a month.

• Bank account: usually the fastest, one to three business days after your batch is processed.
• Retail pay point: Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer and Checkers pay in batches, so it can take longer.
• Post Office: collect once you get an SMS saying your payment is ready.

You don't need to reapply to get the current rate. National Treasury usually announces the next grant increases in the February Budget. If your grant doesn't cover a shortfall, compare regulated options such as personal loans and read the full cost before you sign.

The December to March dates come from SASSA's original 2026/2027 schedule. SASSA has shown it will change dates around public holidays, so check this page again before each month. SRD R370 isn't in the table because it is paid in batches.

How to collect your grant around election week

Your money doesn't expire. Once it's in your account or on your card, you can draw it when you're ready. These steps keep election week simple:

1. Note the three dates: 30 October, 2 November and 3 November.
2. Don't queue on the first day unless you need cash that day.
3. Expect SASSA offices to be closed on Wednesday, 4 November.
4. Pay bills by card or EFT if you can, instead of cash.
5. Keep your ID with you if you're also voting.

How to check your SASSA payment status

1. SRD R370: go to srd.sassa.gov.za and log in with your ID and cell number.
2. SRD on WhatsApp: message 082 046 8553 and follow the prompts.
3. All other grants: call the SASSA toll-free line on 0800 60 10 11.
4. Check your bank app or card balance once your payment date has passed.

What to do if your grant is late

Many people think their grant is late because they're looking at the old 3, 4 and 5 November dates. The old age grant has already been paid on 30 October for most beneficiaries. If your date has truly passed:

• Call 0800 60 10 11 and report the missing payment.
• Visit your nearest SASSA office with your ID, after the public holiday.
• Check whether your grant is under review, which moves your payment to 5 November.
• Confirm your bank and contact details are correct.
